Prof. Massimo Santini President World Society of ArrhythmiasThe International Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology Society (ICPES) was co-founded by Dr. Victor Parsonnet, Dr. Bert Th. Thalen, Dr. Graeme Sloman, Dr. H. Sykosch, Dr. Claude Meere and Dr. Seymour Furman in 1978. The Society is established with the missions to promote worldwide education in the fields of cardiac pacing and electrophysiology, and to coordinate the activities of national an international scientific societies devoted to cardiac pacing and electrophysiology.
It also provides a platform for scientific exchange among its member and other national and international organizations through hosting World Congress on Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology.

The XIV World Congress on Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology will be held from December 11 to 14, 2011 in Athens. The Board Members of the World Society The Board Members of the World Society of Arrhythmias (WSA/ICPES) assigned to us the task to coordinate both the scientific and logistic organization. The World Congress of Pacing and Electrophysiology is held every four years since more than three decades and it has always been very successful. The attendance in the last two editions (Hong Kong and Rome) was very high, including electrophysiologists and clinical cardiologists from all over the world.
